Testosterone Replacement Therapy May Be Linked To Increased Heart Risks.

Some individuals may be at greater risk for developing heart disease, while on hormone replacement therapy for testosterone. A study looked the data on more than 8,700 men who had low testosterone levels and were submitted to the study of the heart arteries (coronary) condition. In the group that had testosterone replacement therapy, there was a 30% increased risk to suffer an adverse event such as stroke, heart attack or death. The same elevated risk was also observed in a group that did not have coronary artery disease. Although questionable, the study draws attention to the excessive use of testosterone therapy.
